Bush - "Razorblade Suitcase (In Addition)" - Twenty four years ago, BUSH bravely followed up their 1994 multi-platinum juggernaut of a debut, 'Sixteen Stone', with a darker, more cerebral sophomore effort in 'Razorblade Suitcase'. Produced by Steve Albini and recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 293,000 copies during it's first week of release in the US and staying alive with hit singles "Greedy Fly" and "Swallowed". To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this 3x platinum album, the band has announced a deluxe, remastered LP edition titled 'Razorblade Suitcase (In Addition)' via ROUND HILL/ZUMA ROCK RECORDS. In addition to the original remastered album, the reissue will also include four rare bonus tracks: "Old", "Broken TV", "Bubbles", and "Sleeper" on a double 'Black' and 'White' AsideBside vinyl color. The metallic foil jacket features reinterpreted artwork by designer Shaun Durkan, and a fold out poster with never-before-printed lyrics and album liner notes from producer Steve Albini.

The Sophtware Slump... On A Wooden Piano - So this new "The Sophtware Slump" isn't a recontextualization of old songs as a stealth anthology for newcomers. This newly recorded "The Sophtware Slump" with the songs' skeletons are the same, but the bones dance differently. Slower songs like "Undearneath the Weeping Willow" make a natural transition to this sparer presentation. Greater revelations occur with the once louder songs like "The Crystal Lake" and "Chartsengrafs." The effect at times is that of unfolding an origami dinosaur and refashioning it into a swan. The album's sharp melodic sense isn't dampened at all, but the words step forward, which only enhances the aspirational lift at album's end, about aiming toward the sky.

This is the eighth year for the initiative that has raised over $250,000 for Red Door Community, an organization that provides community support for both those diagnosed with cancer and their caretakers. 2021's set includes releases by The Hold Steady, Grandaddy, The Allman Brothers, Bush, Plain White T's, Less Than Jake, Primal Scream, Umphreys' McGee, Minus The Bear and Tom Tom Club. Bristling with guitar acrobatics and infectious melodies, Minus the Bear's fifth studio full-length album, 2012's Infinity Overhead, marked not only a return to form in direction, instrumentation and creation but also one of the band's most aggressive and confident records to date. The veteran Seattle-based fivesome reunited with former member and longtime producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis, Cursive) to create a guitar-laden 10-track record that is heavy both on technicality and pop songcraft and showcases the band doing what they do best; interesting, guitar-based, big sounding rock.
