More Info:

His relaxed, smooth vocal style earned 50s and 60s singer-songwriter Roy Drusky the nickname of 'The Perry Como Of Country Music'. It's easy to see why when you hear Jasmine's new compilation of the man's complete singles A's and B's from 1955 to 1962. Over the course of almost 50 years of making records, Roy racked up more than 40 country chart hits - a very nice total, especially when you consider that he went hitless for the first five years of his recording career - and enough to rank him just inside the Top 100 most successful country artists of all time. In this collection you can hear all the singles that led up to his 1960 breakthrough with 'Another' and the 8 country Top 20 hits that followed it's # 2 chart success - including his biggest solo hit (and his only US Top 40 pop charter) 'Three Hearts In A Tangle'. Roy's easy-on-the-ear voice made him a perfect candidate to benefit from the arrival of the countrypolitan 'Nashville Sound' in the last third of the 1950s and what you hear here is that 'Sound' at it's finest, as played by Music City's A list musicians of the day. More hits would follow in the years to come, but this Jasmine collection preserves the hits that made 'The Country Como's" reputation and makes them all available on single CD format for the first time ever. As always, the finest available sources have been used in the preparation of the audio for this collection, and the handsomely illustrated booklet tells the whole Roy Drusky story from it's beginnings to his death in the early 00s.
